Antique Baroque Chalice and Paten Ref 5752
French 19th century Baroque style Chalice and Paten in solid silver.
Chalice made by the French silversmith, Hippolyte Puche, dating from around 1847.
Chalice and Paten are both made in solid silver. The cup and the Paten are gilded.
Around the calix are oval images depicting Faith, Hope and Charity.
The knop is finished with fine decorative work and raised Cherub heads.
The base has three scenes depicting the Agony in the Garden of Gethsemene, Jesus falls under the Cross, and the Crucifixion.
In between these scenes are raised Cherub heads along with wheat, grapes and bullrushes.
Chalice comes with blending French solid silver gilt well-design Paten. The Paten has a fine image of the Holy Family worked in relief.
Chalice Height 35cm. Base diameter 17cm. Diameter of top of cup 9.5cm. Diameter of Paten 17cm. Overall weight 1,038g.
Complete with brand new lined, fitted carrying case.
