Antique Baroque Chalice and Paten Ref 6437
19th century French Chalice and Paten in Baroque style made in solid silver gilt.
Made by the French silversmiths Charles-Denis-Noel Martin & Joseph-Philippe-Adolphe Dejean. These two French silversmiths worked together in collaboration between the years 1837 and 1846.
Both Chalice & Paten are made from solid silver, hallmarked with the French silver mark, the Martin-Dejean maker's mark, and gilded all over.

The circular stem is finished with fine engraving work and beading, and leads to the unusually shaped circular form base.

The shaped base has three pairs of cherub heads on the raised sections, interspersed with baroque style floral decoration.
