Antique Baroque Chalice and Paten Ref 9010

Mid 19th century French Chalice and Paten in Baroque style made in solid silver.
The Chalice was made by the French Pierre-Henry Favier, in Paris in 1858.
The blending Paten was made by Henri Nesme, who also worked in Paris during the 1850's.
The Chalice and Paten each have the French silver hallmark of the period, and both pieces bear their respective maker's mark.
The Calix has three images in ovals, depicting St Peter, Christ the good Shepherd, and Our Lady.
Between these are Eucharistic symbols of wheat, grapes & bulrushes.
The circular stem has a large central knop, finished with three raised cherub heads. Between these are more Eucharistic symbols.
The weighted shaped circular base has three large framed scenes depicting The Baptism of Our Lord, The Crucifixion and The Supper at Emmaus. Between each scene are bunches of grapes and decoration.
The edge of the base has three pairs of raised winged Cherub heads, between which are wheat and bulrushes with decoration.
Chalice comes with blending solid silver gilt well-design Paten, which fits the Chalice well. The centre of Paten has large image of The Last Supper in the centre.
Chalice Height 30cm. Base diameter 16cm. Diameter of top of cup 9cm. Diameter of Paten 15.5cm. Overall weight 1,138g.
Complete with new case for carrying and storage.
