Antique French Silver Cruets Ref 8714
French 19th century Antique French style cruets in solid silver
Made in France in the late 19th century, with the silversmith's initials 'FHM'.
All three pieces are hallmarked throughout as being solid silver, and bear the maker's mark.
The cruets are finished individually with symbols of water and wine.
The water cruet has bulrushes to the main body, with a raised image of Our Lady. The top of the lid is also finished with bulrushes and engraving.
The wine cruet has vine leaves and grapes to the side, with the top of the lid finished with a raised bunch of grapes and engraving. An image of Christ is set to the front.
The handles of each cruet are ornate and decoratively shaped.
The base of each cruet is finished with engraving all round.
The tray has two circular scenes, depicting The Baptism of Christ and workers in the Vineyard.
The sides of the tray are finished with decoration incorporating grapes and bulrushes, along with a decorative shaped edging.
Cruets Height 16.5cm. Tray 31cm x 19cm x 4cm deep at the maximum points. Overall weight 806g.
