Antique French Pontifical Cruets Ref 7434

French 19th century Pontifical Gothic style cruet set in solid silver gilt.
Made by the French silversmiths, Demarquet Freres, who worked in Paris, France in the latter half of the 19th century.
All pieces are made in solid silver, which has been gilded throughout in a two tone partly matt finish.
All pieces bear the French silver mark, and the maker's name.
Both cruets are finished with fine filigree work and fine beading.
There are three coloured round enamels on the main body of each cruet, depicting winged cherubs.
The cruets have hexafoil shaped bases finished with further filigree work.
The matching tray is also solid silver gilt, and is a decorative shape to the edge.
It is finished with fine filigree work and four coloured enamels depicting the Four Evangelists.
In the centre of the tray is a Bishop's Coat of Arms.
Cruets Height 14.5cm. Tray 30cm x 20cm. Overall weight 811g.
