Antique Silver Chalice Ref 7300
Antique Gothic style Chalice with Paten.
Both Chalice and Paten are made in solid silver, gilded throughout. The Chalice dates from the 19th century, possibly made in Germany.
The Chalice is finished throughout with filigree work, enamels, Cabochon stones and pearls.
The Calix is finely detailed with filigree work, set with pearls all round and three large purple stones. There are three dark blue oval enamels each finished with a gilt cross at the centre.
The knop is finished with engraving and is set with a further six pearls.
The circular base is richly decorated with filigree work and pearls. There are three blue oval enamels, each finished with gilded decoration and a small purple stone to the centre.
Between these are panels of filigree work with a large purple cabochon stone.
The edge of the base is finished with engraving and fine beading.
The dish shaped Paten is made in solid silver & is gilded all over. It is engraved in the centre with a Gothic style IHS.
Chalice height 22cm. Base diameter 13.5cm. Diameter of top of cup 10cm. Diameter of Paten 15.5cm. Overall weight of Chalice & Paten 1,091g.
Complete with brand new lined, fitted carrying case.
