Magnificent Antique French Baroque Cruets Ref 4797

Large Ornate French 19th century Baroque style cruets in solid silver gilt.
Made by Favier, a well renowned family of silversmiths who worked in Lyon, France, in the mid-19th century. All pieces are hallmarked throughout as being solid silver, and all are gilded throughout.
Both cruets are finished with decorative work throughout.
Three roundels on each cruet illustrate the Holy Family: Our Lord, Our Lady and St Joseph with the Christ Child. IN between the roundels are bunches of grapes or groups of bullrushes.
The handles of each cruet are ornate and decoratively shaped.
Large bunches of grapes and bullrushes on the lids differentiate the cruets for water and wine.
The tray is also in solid silver and is gilded all over.
Four roundels on the tray illustrate the Four Evangelists, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, with their respective symbols.
Between these roundels is decoraitve engraving incorporating rasied bunches of grapes and bullrushes.
The tray has an ornately shaped and finished edge.
Cruets Height 19cm. Tray 33.5cm x 21.5cm x 5.5cm deep at the maximum points. Overall weight 844g.
