Antique French Baroque Cruets Ref 7486
French 19th century Baroque style cruets in solid silver.
Made by the French Silversmith Joseph-Philippe-Adolphe Dejean, who worked in Paris between 1846 and 1865.
All pieces are hallmarked throughout with the French silver hallmark of the period, and bear the maker's name.
Both cruets are finished with Baroque style decorative work.
The water cruet has an image of Our Lady on the front, and bunches of bulrushes round the sides and lid.
The wine cruet has an image of St Joseph on the front, and bunches of grapes round the sides and lid.
The tray is also in solid silver. It has pairs of Cherub heads at each end, with bunches of grapes and bulrushes round the edges.
Cruets Height 15cm. Tray 30cm x 19.5cm x 3cm deep at the maximum points. Overall combined weight 534g.
This cruet set comes complete with its original fitted carrying case, with metal clasps and handle, as illustrated below.
