Irish Silver Chalice & Paten Ref 6696
Irish Chalice & Paten in solid sterling silver.
Chalice & matching Paten made in Dublin, Ireland, in 1902, by the Silversmith John Smith.
Chalice and Paten are both hallmarked with Irish sterling silver hallmarks, and both bear the maker's name.
The cup is finished on the outside with an attractive scalloped beading design worked round. The inside of the cup is gilded.
The circular stem incorporates the circular knop.
The base is hexafoil in shape, with a scalloped edge.
A plain gilded cross is set on one petal.
On the opposite petal, a dedication engraving is set, dating from 1903.
The matching well Paten is in solid silver and is entirely gilded all over.
Chalice height 25cm. Base diameter 14cm. Diameter of top of cup 8cm. Diameter of Paten 15cm. Overall weight of Chalice & Paten 660g.
Complete with brand new lined, fitted carrying case.
