Irish Sterling Silver Chalice & Paten Ref 7267
Irish Sterling Silver Chalice & Paten.
Chalice made in Dublin, Ireland, in 1966, bearing the maker's marks 'LG'.
Both Chalice and Paten are made in solid silver, gilded all over, and both are hallmarked with the Irish sterling silver hallmarks.
The Chalice is made in the De Burgo Gothic style.
The cup is plain; the stem is hexagonal and finished with engraving, set in the middle is the large decorative knop.
The pointed petalled base is octagonal in shape and is finished with decorative work to the edge. On one petal is a cross set with a red stone, and on the opposite side is an engraved IHS.
The dish Paten is in solid silver gilt and fits the Chalice well. The Paten is also entirely gilded all over.
Chalice height 20.5cm. Base diameter 15.5cm. Diameter of top of cup 8.5cm. Diameter of Paten 13cm. Overall weight of Chalice & Paten 789g.
Complete with brand new lined, fitted carrying case.
