English Sterling Silver Chalice & Paten Ref 6772
English Gothic Chalice & Paten in solid sterling silver.
Chalice made in Birmingham, England, in 1892, by the Silversmiths Nathan & Hayes.
Blending Paten made of Sterling Silver in London in 1914.
Chalice and Paten are both hallmarked with English sterling silver hallmarks.
The cup has a decorative calix, with petalled finish, worked all round with Gothic style crosses and decorative work.
The circular stem is set with a large bulbous knop.
The base is finished with the same decorative style work as the calix, with a cross and foliage work set in six panels.
Six half-moon semi-circles finish the edge of the base, finished with Gothic style decoration.
The blending dish Paten is in solid silver gilt and fits the Chalice well. A Gothic style IHS is engraved to the underside. The Paten is entirely gilded all over.
Chalice height 20cm. Base diameter 13cm. Diameter of top of cup 8.5cm. Diameter of Paten 11.5cm. Overall weight of Chalice & Paten 550g.
Complete with brand new lined, fitted carrying case.
