English Sterling Silver Gilt Ciborium Ref 6861
English solid sterling silver gilt Ciborium, made in London in 1959.
The Ciborium is completely solid silver and is gilded all over. It bears the sterling silver hallmark and maker's initials 'EED'.
This large Ciborium is made in Gothic style.
The lid is set with a decorative cross at the top, finished with red and white stones.
The knop is finished with decorative engraving and beading work.
The hexagonal base leads to the hexafoil petalled base.
Overall Height to top of cross 27cm. Diameter of base 16cm; diameter of top of bowl 13cm; depth of bowl 7cm. Overall weight 603g.
