English Sterling Silver Gothic Chalice & Paten Ref 6816
English Gothic Chalice & Paten in solid sterling silver.
Chalice made by the Silversmith's Blunt and Wray in London, England, in 1925.
Blending Paten of the same period, made in London in 1930.
Chalice and Paten are both hallmarked with English sterling silver hallmarks, and both bear their respective maker's marks.
The cup has a decorative Calix, finished with decorative floral work and Gothic themes.
The hexagonal stem is finished with Gothic style Arches on each side.
The large knop is finished with more Gothic arches. Additionally, it has six round buttons set with the letters 'IHESUS'
The Gothic arches continue on the bottom part of the stem, leading to the hexafoil petalled base.
The base has an engraved Gothic style cross on one petal.
The bottom edge of the base is finished with filigree work leading down.
The blending dish shaped Paten is in solid silver, and is gilded all over. It fits the Chalice well.
Chalice height 21cm. Base diameter 16cm. Diameter of top of cup 11cm. Diameter of Paten 14.5cm. Overall weight of Chalice & Paten 727g.
Complete with brand new lined, fitted carrying case.
