Irish Sterling Silver Chalice & Paten Ref 8533
Irish Gothic Chalice & Paten in solid sterling silver, with both pieces gilded all over.
Chalice & Paten were made by the Silversmiths John Smyth & Sons od Dublin, in 1945.
Chalice and Paten are both hallmarked with Irish sterling silver hallmarks, and both bear the maker's marks.
The Chalice is in Gothic style with a plain cup.
The hexagonal stem has Gothic style engraving to the sides, with a decorative knop at the centre.
The hexafoil pointed petalled base has an engraved cross to one side, and an engraved Gothic IHS to the other.
The edge of the base is finished with decorative work.
The matching dish shaped Paten is in solid silver, gilded all over. It fits the Chalice well.
Chalice height 20.5cm. Base diameter 15.5cm. Diameter of top of cup 9cm. Diameter of Paten 12cm. Overall weight of Chalice & Paten 518g.
Complete with original lined, fitted carrying case, bearing the maker's name.
