Episcopal Ewer: Antique
19th century antique Episcopal Ewer made entirely in solid silver.
Made in Baroque style with much fine decoration throughout.
The lid is engraved and is surmounted on the top by the Pelican in her Piety. A winged angel sits on the hinge, with a small angel worked on the lip.
The handle is formed by a gargoyle.
On the main body of the Ewer are three large images set in roundels, depicting The Last Supper, The Crucifixion and the Resurrection.
Between these are set winged cherubs and baroque style decoration.
Round the bottom edge are further small winged Cherubs.
Total Height 21.5cm; diameter of base 6.5cm. Total weight 371g
