Gothic Gilt Monstrance Ref 8136
Brass gilt Monstrance in Gothic tower style, complete with integral Pyx and Lunette.
The Monstrance is made in brass and is gilded all over.
It is made in Gothic style, finished with Gothic style pinnacles, arches & decoration.
The Monstrance is surmounted with a tall tower, finished with engraving an decoration, completed with a Gothic cross at the top.
The central section is set with fine filigree at the top with four pinnacles.
The Gloria is circular and is surrounded with fine filigree work.
Quatrefoil plaques to each corner are finished with two blue/gold enamelled angels to the front and engraved angels and fleur de lys elsewhere.
Below the Gloria is standing filigree work in a fleur de lys design. Along the bottom edge are three large coloured stones on each side.
There is a unique design in that the Gloria slides out of the centre to become a standing Pyx with the Lunette. When inside the Monstrance, it is secured into position.
The hexagonal stem is finished with engraving. The decorative central knop has six quatrefoil engraved lozenges, each set with a small central stone.
The decorative hexagonal petalled base is finished with engraving work throughout, incorporating angels between each petal.
The Monstrance comes with a brass gilt Pyx, which is engraved to the front with a decorative cross design.
The Monstrance height is 68cm. The width across the centre part is 14cm & the base is 20.5cm diameter. The inside of the Gloria measures 9cm diameter. The weight of the Monstrance is 2,245g.
