Irish Sterling Silver Ciborium Ref 8455
Irish solid sterling silver Ciborium, made in Dublin in 1942.
The Ciborium is completely solid silver. It bears the sterling silver hallmark throughout and the maker's mark.
The inside of the bowl and lid are gilded.
The lid is surmounted with a decorative cross.
The hexagonal stem has a decorative knop at the centre.
The base is hexafoil pointed petalled in shape. An engraved Cross and an IHS finish two of the sides. The edge is finished with decoration.
Overall Height to top of cross 21cm. Diameter of base 14.5cm; diameter of top of bowl 8.5cm. Overall weight 477g.
