English Sterling Silver Ciborium Ref 8490
English solid sterling silver Ciborium, made in Birmingham in 1930 by Burns, Oates & Washbourne.
The Ciborium is completely solid silver. It bears the sterling silver hallmark and maker's mark throughout.
The inside of the bowl and lid are gilded.
The lid is surmounted with a cross.
The hexagonal stem has a central knop which is finished with fine engraving work.
The Chalice is finished with a circular base, with engraving work to the bottom, and beading round the outer edge.
Overall Height to top of cross 24cm. Diameter of base 12.5cm; diameter of top of bowl 9.5cm; depth of bowl 5.5cm. Overall weight 518g.
